East African vegan (for 1)

East African vegan (for 1)

Book this one-to-one class with chef Anita and you will learn and celebrate the fantastic mix of cultures and taste these unique East African dishes. Dishes may vary on the day:

  • Ugandan kasodi

  • Kenyan stew

  • Gujarati chapatti

  • Swahili mandazi

East African cuisine has been heavily influenced by it’s history. When the Arabs settled on the coast over 1000 years ago, they introduced spices such as saffron, cloves and cinnamon. The Portuguese introduced chillies, citrus fruits, maize, tomatoes, marinating, and roasting. When the British and the Indian came along, they brought vegetable curries and chapattis.
